Oil sorghum has strong adaptability and high yield. Generally, each mu (about 666 square meters) can produce 1,000 kilograms of fresh beans and 500 kilograms of dried beans. Oil sorghum has an oil content of up to 30%, and the oil quality is excellent. Due to its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids (64% oleic acid, 11% linoleic acid, and 2% linolenic acid), it can be comparable to olive oil and almond oil. At the same time, oil sorghum is rich in starch and can be widely used in the starch and brewing industries.
The processing techniques for oil sesame oil generally include cold pressing technology, subcritical extraction technology, and low-temperature continuous large-scale processing technology. To enhance the quality of oil sesame oil, the processing techniques are continuously optimized. The low-temperature continuous large-scale processing technology has a small amount of residue oil, low processing cost, and can protect the nutrients in the oil while avoiding the generation of harmful substances.
The extraction process reduces the residual oil content in the meal to below 1%. Meanwhile, the starch and protein substances in the oil meal after extraction remain unchanged, which can be further processed into food, thereby extending the industrial chain and increasing the added value.
The advantage of the low-temperature extraction technology lies in its low-temperature property. The entire extraction process is carried out at room temperature or below, avoiding the damage to the heat-sensitive components in the materials caused by high temperatures. This technology can fully retain the active substances in oil palm kernel, such as vitamin E, sterols, camphene, etc., as well as the unsaturated fatty acids in the oil, thus ensuring the nutritional value of oil palm kernel oil.
